Principal Communications & Impact Consultant
Hi, I’m Alexa Hassink (she/her).
I have 15+ years of experience in communications leadership across nonprofits and agencies. I’ve led strategies for nonprofits, foundations, and UN agencies in 55 countries, with a focus on gender, equity, and human rights.
Whether you’re scaling up, facing challenges, or need a steady hand, I can bring intention, clarity, and confidence to your communications.
You can hire me as a strategic comms advisor, a fractional chief communications officer, or to lead a communications or brand strategy project from start to finish.
My work has included:
Building, managing, and mentoring high-performing communications teams and a networking group for social impact communicators
Leading human-centered design workshops in the US, Lebanon, Rwanda, and Indonesia to align teams on strategy and messaging
Driving organizational growth, including a 20% audience increase at an international nonprofit and a 20% revenue boost at a B Corp
Renaming a national summit to unite US nonprofits and philanthropies around collective power
Leading international campaigns that have shaped national policy, gained top-tier coverage (NYT, Teen Vogue), and earned a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title
Sharing insights at global events like Sustainable Brands, Women Deliver, and the UN Commission on the Status of Women
Before starting Alexa Hassink Strategies, I was the Director of Partnerships & Strategic Communications at a creative agency in New York. I also served as the Director of Marketing & Communications at an international nonprofit in Washington, DC, focused on gender equality and healthy masculinity.
I was a Health Educator with the Peace Corps in Morocco and hold a BA in Communications & Psychology from the University of Delaware.
