Hi, I’m Alexa Hassink (she/her).

I bring 15+ years of strategic communications leadership with a specialization in gender, equity, and human rights. I’ve led initiatives for nonprofits, foundations, and UN agencies across 55 countries.

My work has included:

  • Facilitating human-centered design workshops across the US, Lebanon, Rwanda & Indonesia to align teams on strategy and messaging

  • Fueling growth — from a 20% year-over-year audience increase at an international nonprofit, to a 20% revenue jump at a B Corp, or a 4x applicant increase for a gender-focused training

  • Renaming a national summit to better align US nonprofits and philanthropies around a shared purpose: building collective power.

  • Leading international campaigns that have shaped national policy, earned top-tier coverage (NYT, Teen Vogue), and led to a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title

  • Building, leading, and managing communications teams as well as a best-practice networking group for social impact communicators

Before founding Alexa Hassink Strategies, I served as Director of Partnerships & Strategic Communications at a purpose-driven creative agency in New York, and as Director of Marketing & Communications at an international nonprofit in Washington, DC, focused on gender equality and healthy masculinity.

I served as a Health Educator with the Peace Corps in Morocco, and hold a BA in Communications & Psychology from the University of Delaware.
